American Idol

As most Americans do I watch American Idol whenever I have a chance. I think the show is entertaining and makes the audience feel connected through their ability to vote and the idea that they too can be on the show.
The only issue I have is who gets kept on the show. So many artists have been kicked off the show that are talented and likable. The producers have to have a lot more say in who stays and who goes. I mean Crystal Bowersox? She has an amazing voice, but really mainstream teen America is voting for her? The same kids who are making Miley Cyrus a huge star... ?

And Michael Lynche? His past couple performances have all but put me to sleep. From the get go I never liked the guy. And the fact that the judges saved him last week? Why? What a waste of the season's one and only save.
And one more thing... Aaron and Katie. Both around the same age, but the judges only yell at Katie for not singing songs that fit her age. There has to be some sort of animosity going against her. Tonight was the only night I have heard the judges not comment on the song not being "her." Please.
Unfortunately, even with the blinding errors in the show I am going to keep watching it. Or at least until Lee Dewyze gets voted off.

The Life of Gaga

My brother was kind enough to e-mail the link to this article about the current Pop Star who is ruling the world: Lady Gaga. Personally I really like Gaga and her music. I think everything she does is clever, from her outrageous outfits, to her ridiculous statements. No matter if you love her or hate her you're still are going to talk about her, or at least check out what she wore to the latest award show. (Can you say PR genius?)

Growing Up Gaga was written by Vanessa Grigoriadis for New York magazine. The article is worth reading because Gaga's journey to infamy is not what you would expect. She was made fun of in high school and had a record deal with L. A. Reid taken away from her, after Reid decided he didn't like her demo. (Reid must be kicking himself in the ass right now. Lady Gaga's first five singles off of her first album have all hit number one on the Billboard charts.)

So if you love her or hate her take the 15 minutes to check out this article, about the greatest pop star of our generation.

The Nakeds

Honestly Victoria's Secret? What are you trying to sell in this commercial? According to their website "The Nakeds" are bras and panties "so light, so bare, you'll wonder if they're even there." Okay sounds good... but still the commercial?
All the ladies in the commercial are wearing leopard or zebra print bras and panties, and are in a monsoon or in just a plain ole' wind storm. And they are in a jungle, perhaps? Or maybe a desert?

The real question if who are they trying to sell their undies too? After watching the commercial your left with wondering who/what are "The Nakeds." I was expecting to go to Vicky's website and find them selling me some nice naked ladies.
But even though the commercial probably peeks on the ridiculous scale for Vicky commercials I still went and checked what the hell "The Nakeds" were and now I'll probably go try on them undies.

Life

I don't know if you all have been watching Life on Discovery Channel but you should be. The series is absolutely amazing. The show is done by the same people as Earth and is equally, if not more, intriguing.

Life is series of nature documentaries that focuses on a different species each episode. So far they have shown Mammals, Reptiles and Amphibians, and Fish, along with an overarching introductory episode.

A majority of the animals shown in these segments I have never even heard of, and a lot of the shots that the camera crews were able to get are just nuts. In one scene they managed to film the inside of a male Mud Skippers burrow, which is not only small in width but also U-shaped.

The show airs every Sunday at 8 on the Discovery channel and they premiere two episodes back-to-back. This weekend they will be airing Birds and Creatures of the Deep.
